Campus Library News

Dear Parents,

The library along with teachers and the parent community are very proud to launch a BRAND NEW reading program called 1 Book, 1 Campus.  This program is amazing because every child who wants a copy will receive a selected book for FREE--thanks to our generous donor - Comfort Dental!!  Every student and staff will get the same book, so that we can all talk about it.

The goal of the program is simple:  build a community around reading for the sake of reading.  There’s no extra homework or assignments attached to the book.  Although we will promote the book and have fun events that relate to the book, the real goal is to enjoy the book and enjoy reading.  We have chosen an amazing book that will excite kids about reading!

Each book will be signed by the author!  We will reveal the book title and author on Tuesday, February 4.

In order to promote the book we will have a week of awesome events occuring at lunch.

Promotion Week (Feb 4th-10th)
Tuesday, February 4th—Reveal the book.  Watch book trailer.  Get book permission slip. Dr. Rosales and Ms. Deshay will play music at lunch that ties into the book.
Wednesday, February 5th— SRO officer will bring in cool spy and tech gear at lunch that connects with the book.
Thursday, February 6th –Magician at lunch does magic tricks.  Again, it ties in with the book.
Friday, February 7th—Several RV’s that tie in with the themes of the book.
Monday, February 10th—Tae Kwan Do demonstration during lunches.
