We have been busy in our AVID classes at Campus Middle School!

6th graders have been learning about the different components to public speaking, such as eye-contact, tone, gestures, and volume. They are busy writing personal essays which will be the basis for their spring speech. Stay tuned for information on when these speeches will take place, as parents are welcome to come watch!

7th graders have been working hard exploring the plethora of education options one has after high school.  Students first researched different post-secondary education options.  This allowed students to find out different degree programs available to them and compared the pros and cons of them.  Students are now utilizing Collegeincolorado.org to find out more about their own interests and career opportunities they can start exploring now!

8th graders just finished a unit on 21st Century Employee Skills and public speaking.  Students have started utilizing various tools on collegeincolorado.org to find out more about their own interests and passions.  Students are taking the results from these interest inventories and linking them with the 21st century employee skills they learned about in the previous unit.

8th graders accepted into the CCHS AVID program have been notified and will be going on a shadow day at Creek on May 7 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  More information will be sent home with those students who were accepted.
