From the Principal's Desk

Hello Campus Family

The change of the leaves every year and cooler weather can only mean we are entering our fall season and our second month of school. It has been a great start to the new school year as we head into the winter months with renewed purpose as we all get to know our students this year.

As we enter October, we also enter into our second round of student conferences. Please know that we value the partnership with you as parents as you know your student better than we ever will. To that end, please know that you are able to communicate with your student's teachers via email or phone whenever a question or concern arises. Further, you are able to request a teacher conference throughout the year without needing to wait for our scheduled conference days should that be the more appropriate way to seek information or problem solve. Please contact your student's teacher, grade level administrator, or my office as needed.

Extended Learning Opportunities

Extended learning is available in the library after school Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. Staff members as well as NHS high school tutors are available for homework help and review. The library is also open to check out books and quiet reading at this time. We are also very excited to announce the Campus Middle School Academic Breakfast Club. The library will be open on Wednesday mornings starting at 7:05 a.m. for students to receive support in all the content areas by some of our amazing teachers. A light breakfast will also be served.

Veterans Day

I want to announce our Veterans Day ceremony will be on November 12, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The theme for this year's celebration is Defending Freedom, Protecting Dreams. Please consider joining us that afternoon as we celebrate our nation's finest citizens and honor their service. Our students are busy preparing for our program which will include works of art, musical numbers, video productions, essay and poetry writing.

Coffee with the Principal

I would like to institute a time for parents to come and have coffee with me and provide a place to share information and feedback. We would like to start this new tradition and schedule it for the third Wednesday of the month at 8:00 a.m., with Wednesday, October 15 being our first gathering.

Saying goodbye

Finally it is with a very heavy heart that I write this goodbye for a very dear and loved staff member here at Campus. Assistant Principal, Linda Maccagnan has accepted the position of principal at the Challenge School. This is a great opportunity for Linda and we all know she will be fantastic as that school's new leader. She has been a very important part of Campus Middle School for over seven years. Please join me in wishing her the best as she enters this new stage of her administrative career.

Linda, you will be missed!
