Julie Ahlgrim was born and raised in California but Colorado has her heart. She has been a school counselor for over 10 years and could not imagine doing anything else! She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology at California State University, Long Beach and her master’s degree in educational counseling at National University in 2004. Mrs. Ahlgrim has specialized training in school crisis prevention and intervention, emergency response and crisis management and support group facilitation. She believes all students can achieve at a high level academically and wants to help support them but acknowledges that there are obstacles in life that students need guidance through by problem-solving discussions, role playing, and having an opportunity to be heard. Mrs. Ahlgrim tries daily to give her best to her students by making them feel comfortable, maintaining their trust, being respectful, and following through. She enjoys staying busy by being active with outdoor recreational activities, spending time with her family, and reading. She is happy to call CMS her home.
