Health is essential to optimal learning. Health Services are available to all students within the Cherry Creek School District. The Campus Middle School Health Clinic strives to maximize each student's potential by addressing health-related barriers to learning. When meeting the student's health needs during the school day, clinic staff also use the opportunity to teach students to make choices that will benefit their future health.

If your child has medical concerns that must be addressed during the school day, please call the CMS Health Clinic at 720-554-2712.

Illness/Exclusion: We follow guidance from local and state health departments. We use evidence-based infectious disease guidelines from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Education (CDPHE) for illness and exclusion criteria. Parents/Guardians are encouraged to follow the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) How Sick is Too Sick? / (¿Qué tan enfermo es demasiado enfermo?)

  • Common symptoms of illness in students such as fever, diarrhea, and vomiting should be fully resolved for 24 hours (without the use of medication) before a student should return to school.

For more detailed information on infectious diseases, please go to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's website and read the Infectious Diseases in Child Care and School Settings guidelines.

Medication and/or Nursing Procedures Students may require medication (Over-the-counter or prescription) or nursing procedures (g-tube feeding, tracheostomy care, suctioning, etc.) during the school day. If your student requires medication or a nursing procedure, a current signed order by your student’s healthcare provider is required. CCSD Health Services medication forms, action plans, and procedure forms can be found at https://www.cherrycreekschools.org/programs-and-services/office-of-student-health/office-of-student-health/health-services, or hard copies are available in the CMS Health Clinic.

The school nurse can give selected medications found in parent forms if the parent/guardian completes permission during online registration. This is for emergent or occasional use. If the student needs OTC medications regularly, they will need written permission from their prescribing healthcare provider. Please note that students cannot self-carry over-the-counter medication or prescription medication at school. Contact the CMS Health Clinic for further information on self-carrying rescue medication at school (720-554-2017).

Immunization Record Colorado law requires all students attending Colorado schools to be vaccinated against certain diseases unless an exemption is filed (Board of Health rule 6 CCR 1009-2). To learn more about Colorado-required vaccines, go to: https://cdphe.colorado.gov/school-resources
